Access Log Manager
What's the objective of the Access Log Manager? What kind of information will it provide?
An access log is a thorough list of all the files that were accessed by the visitors of a certain Internet site. Each and every file that was requested for some reason will be listed, so if you have just one page with 3 embedded pictures, one video and one embedded text file, for example, the access log will contain a total of 6 entries - one for every of the six files which were accessed when the visitor opened the webpage. A log typically shows the file name and path, the date, along with the visitor’s Operating System, worldwide web browser and IP address. Sometimes you may also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your Internet site. The info which an access log file includes is in human-readable plain text format. It may be processed by special software on a PC and used to prepare reports on the functionality of an Internet site, besides the web stats which your web hosting server may have created.
Access Log Manager in Cloud Website Hosting
Our in-house built Hepsia CP includes a section dedicated to various logs and the access logs are one of them. As you sign in to your cloud website hosting account and visit this section, you will find a list of all the domain names and subdomains that you have. All it takes to permit the generation of access logs is to press a button which will be available next to each domain/subdomain. When the option is active, you will see a download link together with the file size so far, so you'll be able to save the file to your personal computer and examine it or process it with some program. Enabling or disabling the logs becomes effective immediately, so if you don't need one, you may stop it with a mouse click from the same exact section of the CP. You shall still have the ability to access the already generated content by simply clicking the Download link.
