A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to nonexistent addresses under the same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can receive email messages from partners or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be delivered to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting

If you host a domain on our cloud platform and you’ve got a cloud website hosting account, you will be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel includes quite a few functions, but it is astonishingly user-friendly, so creating a catch-all mailbox takes only one click. All the email addresses that you have will be listed in this section alphabetically and you’ll only need to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the concrete email address. Our system will inform you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as simple and takes yet another click on the exact same button.
